About

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Oisin Queva, and this website was created for my final year project in college. The goal of this website is to make foraging more accessible and beginner-friendly online.

There are many great tools and resources online, but the information is often scattered across different sources, with many of them having knowledge gaps, whether that is plant lookalikes, recipes, mapping data, or nutritional information, making research a bit overwhelming. Some have many of these tools, but they are not so intuitive or well-designed. That is why I made Forage Your Path. This website includes all the necessary information that beginners need to start their foraging journey, including:

  • Clear plant descriptions and identification from multiple sources
  • Information on plant lookalikes to support safe foraging
  • Recipes using foraged ingredients from around the internet.
  • Videos demonstrating how to find and harvest plants.
  • Insights into human anatomy and how plant nutrients can support the body.
  • An interactive map with walking trails and plant locations to help you discover them in nature.

The aim is to make your first encounters with wild plants as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

Disclaimer

The interactive map highlights the approximate locations of plants that may be found in the area. These locations are sourced from the iNaturalist and Falling Fruit map databases. I have made every effort to include research-grade observations, but I cannot guarantee that these exact locations are 100% accurate. Please use caution when searching for plants nearby.

Always ensure you have done sufficient research and are confident in your plant identification before foraging. Misidentification can be dangerous, so it is important to verify plants carefully using multiple sources.

These mapped locations are intended to help beginners discover areas where plants may grow and to build confidence in plant identification. Please forage responsibly and take only small amounts where appropriate, leaving enough for others to observe and enjoy the plant in its natural environment.

Happy Foraging 🙂🌻
